Changgyeong Palace, Historic Site No. 123, was once demoted to Changgyeongwon by the Japanese Empire. This palace regained its original appearance by the Korean government's efforts to remove the remaining vestiges of the Japanese Empire. There are Honghwamun (Treasure No. 384), Myungjeongmun (Treasure No. 385) and Myungjeongjeon (National Treasure No.226) at this palace. Myungjeongjeon is the oldest building of the Chosun Dynasty's palaces wherein morning meetings were held. This palace includes Dongmyungjeon, Yangwhadang, Chundangji and is connected with Jongmyo Royal Shrine by a footbridge.
