Changgyeong Palace,
Historic Site
No. 123, was once
demoted to Changgyeongwon
by the Japanese
Empire. This palace
regained its original
appearance by
the Korean government's
efforts to remove
the remaining
vestiges of the
Japanese Empire.
There are Honghwamun
(Treasure No.
384), Myungjeongmun
(Treasure No.
385) and Myungjeongjeon
(National Treasure
No.226) at this
palace. Myungjeongjeon
is the oldest
building of the
Chosun Dynasty's
palaces wherein
morning meetings
were held. This
palace includes
Dongmyungjeon,
Yangwhadang, Chundangji
and is connected
with Jongmyo Royal
Shrine by a footbridge.
